Schwatka's Search - Gilder, William Henry
In 1878-80, Frederick Schwatka (1849-92) set out to find records from Sir John Franklin's lost expedition. William Henry Gilder (1838-1900) accompanied him to the Arctic and published this illustrated account in 1882. Using Inuit travelling techniques, they found artefacts and graves but no written records.
