Pindaric Metre: The 'Other Half' - Itsumi, Kiichiro (Professor of Greek and Latin Classics, University of Tokyo)
Pindar is one of the greatest Greek poets, but the metre of about half of his odes is very obscure. This study presents a convincing new analysis of their metre, together with discussions of stanzaic structure, of textual problems, and of particular lines in the stanza and their exploitation within the text.
